The Boombox Classic is the nickname for the annual regular season college football game between Jackson State University Tigers and Southern University Jaguars. It is held at Veterans Memorial Stadium (JSU) in even-numbered years and at Mumford Stadium in odd-numbered years. The 2009 matchup was held at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The name is a reference to the two school's marching bands, Jackson State's band being the "Sonic Boom of the South" and Southern's "Human Jukebox".
